What we handle, and what we can do with it.
Acquired in 2011 and transformed from a former refinery into a large-scale tank terminal, HWTT added Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO) production in 2020, creating a unique LSFO position in Northwest Europe. With ample vacant land and extensive jetty and rail capacity, the terminal is also developing new opportunities in hydrogen, CO2 and clean fuels as part of the energy transition.

HWTT is developing its role in the energy transition, using its deep water, ample land and jetty and rail capacity to explore hydrogen, CO2 and clean fuels. In May 2026, HES International and North Atlantic signed an MoU to develop an international LOHC-based hydrogen import route via Wilhelmshaven.
