EBS
The largest dry bulk terminal for agri, minerals and biomass in the Port of Rotterdam
We are a multipurpose dry bulk terminal operator with two strategically located terminals in the Port of Rotterdam. The terminals have excellent access to deep-water seaways and to the hinterland by means of inland waterways, rail links and motorways.
Both terminals are equipped with the latest technology in the area of loading, unloading and storage facilities. EBS not only has onshore equipment (mechanical and pneumatic) at its disposal, but also a fleet of self-supporting floating cranes and weighing towers. We are a logistical partner for customers in the food and feed industry, building and production industry and the energy sector.
EBS is a terminal in transition and is investing heavily in new products and services to address changes in market and customer demand. To grow its services in agricultural products, minerals, building materials and biomass, high quality covered storage is required. EBS is well on track in executing a four-year masterplan to construct a total of 350,000 cbm of additional covered storage capacity at the Laurenshaven and Europoort locations. This will increase EBS’ total available covered storage to 800,000 cbm. These multipurpose sheds are located at storage areas previously used for the storage of in particular steam coal. Furthermore EBS has land and berth capacity available for further expansion.
Bulk for life at EBS
Contributing to the world of tomorrow. That’s what we do at EBS. We are an important switch in the continuous delivery of essential building blocks for our everyday life.
The bread, pasta noodles and couscous we eat, or the beer or whiskey we drink: chances are that the necessary raw materials for these products were transported via EBS. Just as the concrete and plaster used in the construction sector for example.
At EBS, around 180 colleagues dynamically work 24/7 on matters that affect and shape our daily lives.
They always do so with the highest level of commitment to both safety and care for the environment – essential when working for or with EBS.

Welcome at EBS, also in these extraordinary times
The coronavirus is significantly impacting our daily lives. Both your safety and that of our employees is always our number one priority. For that reason, we closely adhere to the government measures regarding the coronavirus.
The products that we store and handle at our terminals are of vital importance to society. In order to guarantee that these essential processes can continue as optimally as possible, compliance with the applicable guidelines is essential at our terminals. We are doing our best to maintain our level of service provision. Let's help each other get through these times as best as we can. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Food safety
At the Europoort terminal we mainly handle agricultural products. To ensure that no contamination occurs during the handling of these products, EBS adheres to very strict food safety standards. Compliance with them is monitored by the annual GMP+ audit. Apart from conventional agricultural products, EBS can also handle organic cargoes. EBS hold the mandatory SKAL B1 and MI105 certificate especially for organic and NON-GMO cargoes.
Quality management
EBS is ISO 9001, SCC*, , SKAL BIO-01, , GMP+ and IM 105 certified.
People & Environment
The care for people and environment has an important part to play at EBS, not only for the people who work at our terminals but also of course for our neighborhood. Apart from the care for the environment, we consider it important that everyone works safely at our terminals.
To convert this into measurable objectives EBS is SCC* certified. EBS takes the view that the care for safety and environment is a shared task of employer and employee. Together we are building on a safe working and living environment with the aim of preventing accidents and harm to the environment.
